Beretta shotgun serial number lookup12/15/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() I wasn't able to call any other vendors before they closed today to find a back up option. I called one vendor I have used in the past who had a few in stock (almost sold out as of this post) and he said they believe they have gen 2s, but I should make specific notes to ask for anyone packing an order to ensure it is a gen 2 first. the problem is most vendors are still using Gen 1 stock photos, have little to no item description or have contradictory MPN, UPCs, product descriptions/specifications listed for the items. Vendors have 1301 Tactical in stock all over with $1098 seeming to be the standard low e-price at the moment. The UPCs between both versions were apparently the same but the MPNs were different, which is where alot of this confusion as well as a "Soft" roll out of the gen 2 likely started. J131T18C is the current version according to Beretta, but apparently I am not the only one confused about this as many people have called in asking why their gun isn't threaded for the optima choke, has the old bolt release (with the torx head screw), and has a plastic rail. I spoke with beretta today and any MPN ending in "M" or "C" should be the updated gen 2 version. ![]() Anyone have leads on confirmed Tactical models (Black, 5+1, threaded for OptimaChokes, updated release button, aluminum rail, etc) for sale on the net? ![]() so obviously I spent much of my time this week browsing around the net for a good deal on a new gen 2.
